Most of my life in one form or another
Off to Bruges in a few weeks, got an early ferry so thought about calling at Ypres on the way.
Looking for somewhere to park a 6m pvc for a few hours, any recommendations fairly close to the town.
Thanks

There's parking at the leisure center on the road next to the skate park and just cross the foot bridge in to town abut ten min walk
Bill

Inside the town walls, don't bother trying.

Outside the town walls, to the south east there is a sports stadium which has some parking, there is also a campsite there, it's a 15 min walk into town from there

Ypres will be busy around the 11th November for remembrance ceremonies but you should have no problems afterwards.

Put camping juegdstadion in your search engine . as you approach the campsite there is a small engineering works on your right that sometimes has empty spaces for parking, failing that just before the barrier there is a small road on your right that you can park in. There is a path through the campsite that takes you to the town walls and about 10 min from parking to Menin Gate

If you are talking about parking in the daytime but not for the night, we have always found a space right in the middle of the town , no problem.
Think you will pick us out here.

I have to say I've been there three times now and I've never seen that much space available in the square, good on you for finding a spot. :giggle:

Perhaps we have been lucky or the time of year or something but have been half a dozen times and always parked on there without a problem and what's more it's free between about 12 o'clock and 2.

Just to clarify, daytime parking only, will be in Bruges for the evening at Memling.
Thanks so far for all the suggestions.

We parked there (about 5 years ago) and just stayed there for 2 days and a night without any problems

That's good, didn't know you could but never tried, we always used to stop the night down the road to the right of the menin gate, coming out of town, but for some reason they have stopped it now but think you can still park there in the daytime.

I have stayed at juegdstadion which is very good but we did have overnight noise from the factory that works 24/7. Mohotel Adventures on YouTube has recently done a video at this campsite.

To reiterate, daytime parking only.
Thanks

plenty of space for parking on Leopold III-Iaan , Menin gate at bottom of rd and there is a cut through over the bridge then turn right to centre.

I was there last week stayed for 2 nights by the skater park in my 7m van. Perfect quiet and 10 min walk to the gate/town.

That's where we used to park, but are you sure it doesn't say ,no campervans now?
Just looked on google maps and you are correct ,thought it would be ok in the day , seems there is some parking up near the skatepark so would have to come in from the other end. Camping Jeugdstadion has a stellplatz but not cheap @€16.Or like you say if its not to busy in town.

Juegdstadion is ideal
Ten minute walk to town ideal

To reiterate, daytime parking only.

Ask at the Leisure Centre. They are very accommodating.

I too am a fan of Leopold lll Laan, but it has been some years sine we were last there. :(

Good luck,

Jock. :)

We stopped at Camping juegdstadion in September, you can either stop on the aire which is just outside the main site. If you choose this option, you get to use the facilities in the main site. 10-minute walk to the town center.
