Most of my life in one form or another

Can anyone confirm that you can stop at this parking area in llangollen for free for up to 3 hours .

Will be visiting tomoro and looks the only viable option for our van.
Just for clarity its next to Aldi and Homebargains.
Thanks

What are you driving and how big is it?

There is a paid for car park that you can stop in all day just downstream of the main bridge. Not big enough for a large van though.

If it’s car sized, you can park loads of places. Motorhomes will need to park elsewhere, there is a car park upstream near Chain Bridge that is cheap for all day and is suitable with a nice walk into Llangollen. The lay-by is a free option if there is space right by the car park.

6.5 pvc

I had looked at other parking spots but was concerned about length in one of the smaller carparks.

Cheers googlebot.

Ps god knows why i keep getting massive spaces between lines.😕

I parked my van in Market St car park in the town centre back in April without issue. Not free but not expensive. There are a good number of coach parking spaces which should be quiet this time of year. Check it out on Google maps before you go. you'll see Mhs there (y)

Parked towcar in this car park and a few Motorhome were there.
Pavillion car park - quite wide entrance.

Managed to park fine today in the long stay just before the bridge , Mill street car park.

Then popped over the bridge to Aldi .Just in case anyone else goes . Massive carpark, FREE for 3 hours .

Take to a trip to the Pontcysyliat Aqueduct.
Loads of overnight parking and a great walk across the Aqueduct.

Considering it's got a population of less than 4,000 it's got a lot going for it (y)

Never been that impressed by the town, but the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
+1 for Pontcysyllte Aquaduct and tea rooms.
I also love the Panorama Walk above the town where there is off grid camping a plenty.

Thats the plan , weather permitting 👍👍

Been over the Aqueduat a times .even better on a boat which we did about 10 years ago.
Strange on a canal that actually has a flow on it.

It still supplies drinking water from the welsh mountains to Cheshire.
There's also a plug in the bottom of the trough so that that they can drain it into the river below

Its a bit of a worry when you clout those thin cast iron trough side with your 15 tonne narrowboat.

Lord knows what that kids up to - I should have asked :Eeek:

What was the Colemere site like at this time of the year? I was brought up less that a mile and a half from there, went to the school at the end of the avenue into Lyneal when I was a nipper.

2 glamping pods , 1 shepherd's hut and 1 yurt type thing.

Probably 15 ish touring pitches. Most of the site is inaccessible at this time of year due to it all being grass. The owner does have a tractor if you get stuck. Acces to the site is down a narrow lane.
elsan is very rudimentary, does the job, but.🤔🤔🤔🤔.
Nice community area for socialising which we wont be using.
Very good position for walks .
Went into Ellesmere today .
slow walk with the two elderly cockers.

Thanks for the update, I thought the grass area would be potentially very wet. However there is access to the path around the mere from the bottom end of the site and potentially providing a cycle route via the canal towpath into Ellesmere (or the other way towards Wixall). Both walling the paths or cycling them is nice when the weather is good.

Those lanes only seem narrow to those who didn't grow up with them!
