Would like some clear information on day parking in Exeter for later in June. If one found so much to see and do is there anywhere one can overnight?

hello fifthwheel Yes i read there are 4 Park and Ride's all with height barriers ! Is that still the case ?

Mmm, not sure I’d want to take my MH into Exeter itself. Traffic and lack of parking for high vehicles might be a limitation. You can park on the street in Southernhay, but not if you’re v wide. Magdalen Street car park is nearby, doesn’t have height barriers and is pretty central.

Another option is to stay outside the city and take a bus in.

I'm with you , no city centre. Think maybe its Anti Motorhome ,so just don't go there.
Would rather park and pay out of city, cycle or Public transport in. Come back in afternoon
and if we liked it , and wanted to return in morning, pay overnight and day parking.
Seems thats not possible so will bypass Exeter.

I wouldn’t say it’s anti-MH at all. That’s certainly not the intention, but like many busy cities, it’s just not set up for parking large vehicles in the centre. As I say, try Magdalen St., which you can pay for on an app and which is about 10 min walk from the Cathedral. No height barrier. If you want to park further out and catch the bus in, have a look at Topsham. There is sometimes a temporary campsite set up at the rugby club.

I was at the topsham bash a couple of weeks ago & popped into exmouth & you can overnight on opposite side of the beach road for a couple of days.
Bit of a walk to the train station to Exeter (depending on how good your legs are it’s manageable) & exmouth is ok, good beach.
I don’t wild in Exeter area but spotted a huge rig overnighting in a car park by the swing bridge by the river /canal but it’s not a huge car park. If you get to area early there are a few good spots that you can park up though (sorry can’t recommend sites as I am too tight to pay fees)
