I am making a trip from Kings Cross in February and need to be there early, so my idea is to use the MH to stay the night somewhere near that I can park for 5 days (safely) then get an early train into KC.
I have no idea about the area but a campsite or similar near to a station within say 30 minutes train ride.p to KC.

Euston Station is only about a ten minute walk from Kings Cross.

This might allow a greater selection of sites. (y)

Woodside farm at Sandy. £15 per night. We were there for a few months earlier in the year and I used it to commute to London - five mins walk to station and 40 mins direct to kings X.
Easy access just off the A1 (y)

As you appear to live in Essex, I would look at travelling from home! Leaving the MH unattended for 5days is probably against most campsite rules and possibly also your insurance.

We stayed at CC Welwyn Garden and the bus service is superb: £2.60 single to Hatfield station (used our bus passes to come back), £16.50 (I think) day return to KC on train. Camping was £15.30 for 2 people (approx £10 for one?). Buses start at 6am and end at 11pm (approx; from memory).

Depending on where you are in Essex and whether you just want an outing, I wouldn't bother with the MH. As others have said, leaving the MoHo unattended for 5 days is dodgy.

I'm sure you know that Essex has excellent links to London. For starters, I would just get on the Liverpool Street line and then the Metroplitan Line on the underground to KC/St.Pancras.
