Its looking more and more likely that we will make this meet rather than Malvern, especially after Bob the site owner explained the village festivities to me today. ::bigsmile:

So if you are going (I think a funster or two are there already) then we will probably meet you there for a glass of the village vino À votre santé . :thumb:

We won't make the meet but are hoping to be around there about the 18th.
If anyone's still gonna be there let us know and we'll book a pitch.

Got to Parc Verger last night, Brisey, 656 and fordy are here already. A very nice site it is too. Got a lovely welcome from the owners Bob & Di and we are settled in here nicely. Presently the weather is changeable, its hot and dry and then its not:Smile: But the forecast is good.:thumb:

We will be here for the holiday festivities on Fri and if the weather is good we may hang around, but bad weather will see us push on down in to Spain. See you if your coming:thumb::thumb:

Hey dont forget us weve been here nearly three weeks lapping up the hot sun waiting for all you guys to arrive, now its raining on and off ::bigsmile: We've spent the time visiting anywhere and everywhere in this lovely part of France. Thats the beauty of having an A framed car with you, weve certainly burnt some petrol in our little Agila. The Dordogne & charent are only an hour or so away, both have totally different countryside to look at than the Limousin area which is predominately grass land with the Beautiful Limousin Beef cattle everywhere. Limoges is barely half an hour where we spent an enjoyable hour today touring the city on the Land Train. Yesterday we went underground at La Grotte de Villars which was very enjoyable and still under an hour from Parc Verger. There are Chateaus everywhere to take pictures of. Last wednesday we went to the local well known market at Piegut- pluviers barely half an hour away, turned out to be the biggest, busiest and best market Id ever been to, it takes over the whole town virtually. We hit out after the festivities on Saturday to take a leisurely drive back upto calais for our ferry on Monday pm. Just like to take this opportunity to thank Bob and Di for an excellent stay at Parc Verger, would recommend it to anybody. It will be even better next year when all the facilities and the extra pitches are finished. :thumb:

Looks fab Jim

Hope all the funsters are having a great time.

Be great if we could do this one next year, depends on whether we can get the pet passport done in time. Let us know the dates well in advance.

Loved the pictures of the parade.

Have fun, hope the kids have a great time too

Well the bank holiday was very nice indeed and a real insight into French village life. The locals had put a lot of effort into having a good time. The atmosphere throughout was exceptional. People that had been drinking and laughing all day were not loud nor it seemed drunk! We had an excellent meal whilst being entertained by yet more scantily clad dancers:Eeek: Followed by the whole village turning out for a fantastic firework display. Bob and Di who were superb hosts waved everyone off (Except Fordy who is staying put) yesterday before lunch, with Brisey, Tony Hunt and Dave (656) heading north for the UK and us heading South.

We broke our own rule about hitting the autoroutes on a Saturday (holiday changeover day:whatthe::whatthe::whatthe:) and 350 miles South took us about 10 hours.:shout::shout: However this morning finds us wild camping just inside Spain overlooking a beautiful beach, a calm sea and an orange sky with the promise of a good bucket & spade day ahead.

Have fun Funsters:thumb:

We realy must get away from the traditional way of parking side by side
The the three lads at the Music fest with the 3 damons had it sorted, two side by side with awnings facing and one across the end,
Instant focal point and cover should it rain:thumb:
We should make it a standard fun camp lay out

Well, we are back from Parc Verger. Sat for 48 mins to pay the toll just outside Paris. Utter chaos. Took a slowish drive back to Calaise, not too much traffic. Had a good time at the site, very clean and tidy. Bob and Di went out of their way to welcome us. no doubt they will end up with a superb site when the rest of the stands are finished. However, you really need a form of transport when you are there as it is quite away from anything to do. Jim hired a car which was a good idea. the weather could have been better but Hey Ho! The village festivities were fun and we took a lot of pics. some of the girls really took their lives in their hands with the size of the heels they had on their shoes - see pics.

So who wants to book for next year then? We'll take reservations for those who wish to meet the delicious "birds" in blue and white - sorry, but Bob has reserved the other more scantily dressed young ladies!!! You could come for the next exciting day in Champagnac La Riviere, which is Cidre et Cochnaille (3rd Sunday in October, 19th this year) when you can win a piglet. Mind you, what you do with it is up to you, but just think of all those bacon butties!

Hi all

We have just arrived back home from the Parc Verger meet. Despite the somewhat inclement weather we had a great time, with the village festivities being the highlight of the week. It was good to meet up with the other Funsters namely Dave 656 & Ed, Tony Hunt & Gwen, Jim, Sian & family and not forgetting Fordy & his family who appear to be permanent fixtures at Parc Verger. Bob and Di are excellent hosts who both went beyond the call of duty to make our stay as pleasant as possible and our thanks go out to them both. We look forward to visiting Parc Verger again, it really is a nice place.
