At 100% zoom I now have a broad pink band down each side of the page.. this only started recently.. the block with the content used to fill the screen.

In order to fill the screen I now have to zoom to 150% .. this makes the font huge..

see attached screen shoots.. 1st at 100% , 2nd at 150% Zoom

This is only on Motorhomefun.. and it's the same on both Firefox and Chrome..

How do I fix this ?

The page now has a max width attribute of 1260 pixels. Any wider and you have a mass of white space.

In your screen grabs for instance, between the forum column on the left and the latest post details on the right at max width it's hard to follow across as the gap is too wide. Especially on a 1920 wide screen when it looks rediculous and even at 1500 its not good. Maxing the site to 1260 keeps it tight and easily read on every device. But it's a work in progress and your input is appreciated (y) I'll be keeping an eye on it to see if it causes any problems elsewhere.

Thanks Jim..

I understand what you say about setting the width to fit every device, .. but most other sites stretch to fit the screen width.. irrespective of device.

Did it not do that when you first launched ?

Yes it did, I only set the max width attribute yesterday after messing with it when most people were asleep. In my office on a 1920px wide machine the site looks ridiculous full screen and is hard to use as everything is spread around too much.

Hi Jim

Have the adverts got twice as big this morning, if I turn the iPad portrait they go down the bottom otherwise in landscape they take 1/3 of the screen and are starting to run over the posts.

EDIT it's the adchoices that are twice the size of Jim's shop etc.

I should have said it's the adchoices adverts that are too big.

Should have added this as an edit but it wouldn't let me after leases than a minute after posting.

EDIT ok it will now so forget that.
