No queuing, arrived early put on earlier ferry. No food check. No Corvus test asked for but handed a picture of a star. This was a Corvus pass. Boat almost empty and we parked ourselves, nobody to place us so deft big gap. Boat very clean.

wont make no difference in the long run,Hopefully they're suffering from being boycotted by individuals. I doubt that all commercial freight will do so though.
Except it didnt happen that way but media is media. With regard to principles myself and Philip have not stepped into a wetherspoons since the first lockdown after the callus owner turned round and said he's not paying his suppliers.
Agreed with all, we crossed with them recently on the Pride of Kent.No queuing, arrived early put on earlier ferry. No food check. No Corvus test asked for but handed a picture of a star. We were offered hot meals over the Tannoy, Chicken curry etc, choice of 4. Getting off just as quick and smooth. Accompanied by contents of coachload of children playing tag added to the experience.Agreed with all, we crossed with them recently on the Pride of Kent.
Our usual plan is an early morning crossing having a leisurely breakfast on board and a longish drive without having to worry about a meal till later. However, they now only serve hot meals to commercial transport drivers not regular passengers, only warm snacks and hot drinks, big disappointment.
Otherwise plenty of polite staff and spotless ship and toilets. Not sure if we'd use them again.
He actually said that he didn't know what the situation would be for financial aid for staff so he recommended they get a job in a supermarket and that was a correct attitude and he was lambasted by the press, however business relies on been true to the people that help your business thrive this means supporting your suppliers who may not have the resources of a large company. Simply be true and pay your debts.Except it didnt happen that way but media is media.
Lots of retractions took place by many media outlets. That's the problem when reporters copy other reporters work.
It asked for moratorium ...it was down to the supplier to accept depending on how important their business relationship meant and financial position. I read all invoices were paid up to April 21 for those that couldn't help.
We had the same request and were offered to add a timeframe as to IF bad HOW long we could carry some of the credit so they could plan given the uncertainty of the hospitality industry, and we were given timeline for supplier payments from early 2020.
This is more common than you think and we have had similar in the past from large companies.
City link..walkers...geo post to name a few.
It was a similar thing with the perceived staff wages being withheld.

No he will not get my support.
We used P and O last year. We were told to use truckers restaurant as usual restaurant closed.Agreed with all, we crossed with them recently on the Pride of Kent.

He didnt say that.
I agree, being true to people that help your business is correct.
lots of suppliers are bigger than his business (or any business) even though he didnt say it anyway.
They are not all debts, lots of it was stock, bought on invoice that could be returned (and probably wasted by the manufacturer as no one else could sell it anyway) , he said he'd keep it to save on logistics and potential out of date stuff expiring.
If anything it is people who jump to conclusions and rally round to say "im wont spend another penny " etc, without knowing the full facts that lose honest folk jobs...not people trying to keep folk in work at the businesses most difficult time.
and by people I mean like you and the media, stirring up hype when you dont know .
the staff pay is the real issue, but even that wasnt correct in the media.
EH ? Yes that's right ! the key word is "could" not "should"Wetherspoon boss suggests staff could take jobs at Tesco
Tim Martin says workers can take up jobs with supermarkets following the coronavirus shutdown.www.bbc.co.uk
Ok.EH ? Yes that's right ! the key word is "could" not "should"
The incorrect point you made was about suppliers not being paid, so you wont be drinking in his place.
The media link you quote above is quite true as written. (nothing wrong with that) he actually said of course he can understand anyone who wants to take a job at tesco during the hospitatliy crisis, which is a great thing to say/do..... But I wont waste any more time here trying to explain on a thread that was started for the service of P&O Calais trip.
Sweaty socks.....you must be a guffyI am looking at ferries for future use as no frequent travellers on tunnel and very expensive way to cross now.,Brexit, covid, putin, what next monkey pox to blame rip off britain on. If the sweaty socks get another referendum then why dont the rest of us get another brexit vote?!!! Rant over lol
Living near Dover I have a few friends that are Townsend/P&O retirees. Before booking with P&O I asked if they had objections. None had.Hopefully they're suffering from being boycotted by individuals. I doubt that all commercial freight will do so though.
Unfortunately not it seems, as a group £800m+ profit for 6 monthsHopefully they're suffering f
55 million Euros to shareholders would be one expense. We are looking now for next year and watching how prices go.
For ease we would use tunnel, shorter crossing dogs with us and wife not sea sick, but the delays at every time of day, prices going up and pound going down everybody’s finances are being stretched.
I find it hard to work out how the tunnel is so dear, no staff really to speak of on the trains, no cleaning, no restaurants toilets etc, just cannot see the costs.
Will be checking in a few days if next years dates are up online and post back what they are.
Even if my friends had objections I'd have still travelled with them if it suited me.Living near Dover I have a few friends that are Townsend/P&O retirees. Before booking with P&O I asked if they had objections. None had.
So I booked. It's 6 miles to the Tunnel and 14 to Dover. Eurotunnel were £167 more expensive for same dates.
Let's see how it goes.
That will be a dividend pay out off profit then?55 million Euros to shareholders would be one expense.
Well, yes, profit driven by the fares that were being queried. That will be a dividend pay out off profit then?
“Profit driven”Well, yes, profit driven by the fares that were being queried.
We had the same experience the boat (dover -calais) both ways were very empty ( can they be cost effective ) yes it seems if you turn up early you get straight on! yes no hot meals either way, not offered to use the truckers resturant returned on the 1st oct. will we use them again ? we'll see when we shop around next time.No queuing, arrived early put on earlier ferry. No food check. No Corvus test asked for but handed a picture of a star. This was a Corvus pass. Boat almost empty and we parked ourselves, nobody to place us so deft big gap. Boat very clean.
