Hi,
I bought a Benimar Motorhome in January of this year .It is a 2021 model and already had an Oyster satellite dish fitted . I have now fitted a Cello tv with Sat receiver built in .I have connected everything up.
when I operate the dish it opens and starts auto searching for a few seconds and then the dish closes . I have looked at the cello manual but it doesn’t help me much . Can anyone help with how I go about setting this up please ?

Anthony OysterTech is the man for you, he may pick this up tomorrow if not too busy.

If you are going to the Peterborough Show next week, Oyster Sat tech are an hour away.
I've already booked a slot with them to get my dish sorted.

Looking at their FB page, it appears they will have a stand at the show, but no idea if they will be geared up to fix stuff on site.

Hi Marcy it sounds like you've got receiver control turned on which is why the dish closes straight away. Receiver control is a fancy trick so that when the Oyster box detects Satellite voltage from the TV it automatically opens and when it stops the dish will retract. Sometimes unfortunately it's turned on in error or the previous owners used it and didn't explain it to you but no bother. All you need to do is give us a call when you are with the system on 01858575928 and we can instruct on how to turn it off. We can also check to make sure the system is up to date at the same time and answer any other questions that you may have.

I hope this helps.

P.S thank you to elamessa and Brains for the tags!

Any chance of posting the info on this site for future reference, in particular the receiver control issue please?

Hi MisterB

It is something that's on my list of things to do however it's been a crazy 18 months here. I won't go into details however myself and my colleague Pat are running the entire company on our own currently and although I'd like to be able to publish this sort of information on MHF my time on the forum is unfortunately limited at the moment. I will eventually get around to posting such information however until then I'm always monitoring the site even if I'm not always posting so I am always here for support and if urgent then please just PM me, email me directly anthony@oystersat-tech.co.uk or call and speak directly to myself or Pat on 01858575928.

Hope that helps.

Receiver Control works by detecting when the TV/Satellite receiver is switched on/off, so for example if everything is off and dish is down/off then when you switch on your tv/sat receiver it will automatically raise your dish. Same for if your tv/sat receiver is on and dish is up, when you turn your tv/sat receiver off then the dish will retract.

The problem is when your tv/sat receiver is off and you raise the dish by pressing the button on the control panel or in the app, if it does not detect your tv/sat receiver is off then it will close again.

It’s easy enough to change the control receiver to off in the settings. This is for the Oyster Vision V system.

Hope that helps.

Perfectly explained but just as a side note it is available on Oyster, Caro and Cytrac Vision III systems that use the Vision III Brain box. It's also available on all current system variants: Cytrac V, Oyster IV, Oyster V, Oyster 60, Oyster 70 and Oyster 80 systems using either a Command unit or Feature box.
