So, new (to us) Motorhome. Got an Oyster Satellite fitted. This was working, but on our first trip, it stopped working.

On the small control box (4 buttons + LCD screen), I usually press the left button and the dish raises up and then locks on, and I get a TV picture.

Now, I press the button and nothing happens. I have a solid red LED, and on the LCD display a small black square on the left keep flashing.

Discovering the setup should have another box, I removed a false panel in a cupboard and discovered a rats nest of cables! (see below).

I've reseated the fuse as it looked like it was hanging out, and I've disconnected the battery feed (the top right plug with red, black and brown wires) and the display is still the same.

My immediate priority is to get this working again. I'm sure over time I can clean up this cabling nightmare, in the meantime, I'll put the false back on the cupboard and forget this exists!

I'll 2nd that, Anthony is incredibly helpful :)

How long is it since it was working? I was thinking of the changes in location of Astra but that doesn't seem to be the case in your setup.

Was working in January on the driveway. Had it up and down a few times.

Just dropped Anthony a PM.

Hi all,

Sorry the late arrival Tony68000. Got your message and from what I've read it sounds like you've had a control box failure with the system. Sometimes, if the batteries get low, the V2/V3 control units with older firmware can wrongly assume that a new update is coming so they drop their current firmware ready for the new information that obviously never comes.
This can happen on the V1 controllers but unfortunately this is a bit more terminal on the V1's.
Basically if you have a light grey 4 button control box with blue etching on the buttons then you're going to be looking at a new unit however if the control box is dark grey with a silver inset around the screen then it will be simply a case of returning it to us for an update. I'll reply to your direct message with prices and more details.

Oh and thanks rb62 for the tag. (y)
