oxford 3800 maximiser suitability (1 Viewer)

I have just ordered a 2nd 110Ah leisure battery which I will connect in parallel. Intend to equal load as is advised.

Currently I have a 30amp split charger plus 100w solar set up and use the oxford 3800 maximiser to keep the original leasure battery topped up.

Q. The oxford will inteligently charge batteries up to 125Ah. Will this unit be up to charging 2 x 110Ah batteries in parallel

The oxford 3800 is a portable charger.. so what charger is fitted in the van.. or doesn't it have one.. is it a home built van ?

in any case..
doesn't matter whether parallel or not.. it's the total aH that counts, .. it will struggle and take ages, if ever, to reach a full charge..

so my answer is no.. better to upgrade your charger.. to something like a Ctek Multi US 7002 which can charge up to 225aH

Ahhhhh yes got it, started out as a nagging thought, will upgrade the charger to match the system
