Any recommendations for overnighting at a pub (for a meal) or similar in the Portsmouth or Winchester area? I hear the St Catherines P+R in Winchester does not allow overnighting.

Our idea is to spend a day in Winchester before sailing from Portsmouth on the Friday evening.

We stopped at a car/coach park on Worthy Lane, Winchester last September, £7 for 24 hours from memory, toilets in corner, bit of a faff paying, think you have to phone an automated line but not sure. Might be on Campercontact but I think details on Winchester council website, easy walk into town.

Morn Hill CMC site, only a short walk to the Holiday Inn for food, the Science Centre, the Planetarium and the bus stop.

Cant remember name but listed on pub stopovers, aprox 20 mins towards M3 from Portsmouth, we used early may on evening return from Santander. Parked overnight at Brittany Ferries on outward journey, parked us in holding lane at 8pm for following morning ferry.

Winchester well worth visit , pain to park thou . You could spend all day there then head to Southampton 9 MLS and take the old A27 ( come off at airport junction ) then A27 east ,couple of MLS place called mans bridge the swan pub by river itchen, a nice quiet lay by there . Then just rejoin A27 east to the M27 Portsmouth .
