Afternoon funsters. Does anyone have any up to date info on overnight stops near St Malo. We are currently about 90 mins west of the port and looking for somewhere closer to park up on Friday night to catch the saturday morning boat back to blighty. Have patchy internet at the moment and finding it difficult to get any info on places to stop (in typical forward planning mode all our print info is in the cupboard at home).

There is one at the park and ride car park at st Malo. Nice if you want to go in and see the town. It is a lovely place, and worth it. Although the aire is just car park with area /room for you. Toilet for public use.

Thanks for that. Will take a look if we can find the P&R . ..

We have always parked at the side of the lanes or even in the lanes, the port reception area with toilets is open to about 22.00.
The car park next to the entrance also allows overnight parking from the early evening.

We looked at all the above options but went for quiet and safe option of the park and ride. Then you can just get the bus in/out. (The darker blue marker)

So, French trip completed, no hassles (except that ridiculous passenger locator form . . . .). Thanks to the funsters who came up with ideas for places to overnight near Saint Malo. In the end we decided to try the Aire de Service at Ploubary - €10 for 24 hrs, including hook-up and most important for us (having spent the week parked up on the driveway of a gite with a septic tank) a toilet disposal point. Lovely quiet aire a short walk from the town centre shops, bars etc. and about 20 minutes from Saint Malo. No UK vans there (we were the only moho on the ferry out and one of 3 on the way back).
