Does anyone know of somewhere we could stop for a Friday and / or Saturday night somewhere in this area. Our family has organised a gathering of our "clan" and we need to overnight in our 6m Pilote. Others, who don't live locally, will be using hotels, B&B, AirBNB, and so on. I am hoping that once we are told the venue that we will be able to stop there for one of the nights.

Thanks

John

CCC have a nice site by the side of the river at St Neots near the A1?

If you are in CAMC there is Woodstock campsite on the edge of St Albans which is OK.

have a look at pub stop overs
Thanks for the suggestion 2bob, but despite looking at a number of web sites, I have only come up with one offering. That one is sandwiched between a Sainsbury store and a 4-track railway line between St Pancras and the Midlands about midway between the two towns in the header

John.

A bit further north but we have stayed at Box End Water Park a few times. You have to ring as you can't book online I don't think. It's about 3 years since we were there but it's peaceful albeit basic.

Thank you for that. I don't think my back would be too happy to have a go at most of the activities there, but it may be a good stop for the journey south from Cheshire.

2bob I have just spoken to my wife and she isn't very keen on the idea, to put it mildly. That site has been there a long time, I think, I seem to recall it from the early 60's
