Most of my life in one form or another
Looking for a recommendation for an overnight stop using a pub carpark near Dover for early December. Catching the ferry ( hopefully) early saturday morning.
Used one a couple of years back but its since closed.
We will be having drinks and an evening meal.
Thanks 👍👍

hi. before they stopped us parking we stayed here marine parade but i believe you can still stop at the other end which becomes esplanade free after 6pm . another we used was maison dieu car park at the back of the police station again free after 6pm plus lots of takeaways to fill you up (this place is safe) . photo is the old marine parade esplanade just up the road if in doubt i always email the council parking department here or anywhere in Europe. val

How life has changed eh? filling up UK side.

If I fill both tanks I can get to Spain before I need more - Up yours Macron! I like that.

There is a good pub there but hey ho good luck.

All places -apart from Canterbury- are within 10 mins of the port. Sorry to upset you all, but I have to get out of bed, have breakfast, get in the MOHO, lock the front door and drive to Dover in 10 or pop around the corner into the Shuttle in 5! Revenge comes when I need to go to Wales, Cornwall or anywhere else in England! Due to health problems, I envy you all going wherever you are headed and will not be going anywhere until 2022, and then only once it becomes easier to get back in to the UK, as there are still problems with Covid passes etc.

Did he need to? You asked for a recommendation for a pub and the response was Canterbury P & R which was a correct answer!(y)

The fuel in France is cheaper than the UK. When you become a fully fledged FLT like me you don't let a country stand in your way.

The Coastguard Pub in the bay is excellent for food/beer and their park is only yards from the shingle beach. They dont charge parking if you book a table. Its close enough to watch the ferries in and out of Dover. Interesting winding road down to the St Margaret's Bay 01304 853051

It is now it wasn't back then .It was far dearer.

The pub at canterbury P& R has mixed reviews.

Another for The Valiant Sailor. Stopped a couple months ago. Good food, big enough car park and a short walk to the Battle of Britain Memorial.

Thank you for the very useful pub recommendations 👍👍👍👍👍
