Just a tad..
Anyone got a recommendation for a simple pull in just off the A28, for an overnight between Abbeville and Rouen please? Don’t need services, just somewhere to get my head down. Will be on Boxing Day evening.

Theres a free aire at mesnieres en bray, or a closer paid one at neufchatel en bray.

Petd

The one at mesnieres will be OK, cant comment about neufchatel as not used it.

Theres a large free parking area in Abbeyville which would take a few large 'rigs' - very easy to find and good access. Straight off and onto the A28. We stayed there in early September this year. I will try to find the link.
There's also a garage for fuel on the way back to the A28 if you need it.

This is for the park up

And this is what I wrote about the park up at the time

Just a quick update on the park up. Traffic through the night was pretty light, didn't disturb my sleep. No boy racers or cars playing loud music. There are a handful of vehicles now arriving to park up for the day, but they seem to be considerate of the motorhomes already here, even the ducks are very quiet!
We would definitely park up here for the night again even though it's just that, overnight parking, no services etc. It's ideal if you have an early evening crossing coming over or mid morning going back as it's an hour from Calais via the toll rd/A16.

Not sure if there are any egg, chicken, cheese and chip restaurants around here though 😋😋.... we had to put up with pre made butties even though there was a home made green Thai curry in the freezer with my name on it, 'WE' decided it would be better having it tonight when we get to our static!!

The aire at Neurfchatel would be a tad on the tight side for your rig, pitch size is a bit too small I would suggest and also you might find it difficult turning in.

We are just over 7meters and fill the pitch. There is a camp site next door but probably closed in the winter.

Have you used either? We are a big rig!
We're a big rig too and always used the Mesnieres en Bray aire for overnights. Free water and waste. We used it once with a trailer. It's not huge but it's reasonably manoeuvrable. The aire at Neufchatel isn't big enough for over 7.5m.

The Neufchâtel aire actually prohibits anything over 8 (or 8.5?) m - although there a probably a couple of pitches that would take 9m? The campsite next door is definitely closed then.

There’s also an aire outside the (closed for season) campsite at Blangy-sur-Bresle - no idea how long the pitches are, but I think it’s quite an open area. Campercontact shows photo of a tag Burstner on it , but reviews suggest borne is broken!

If you just want to park up usually plenty of room here,

Try Forges Les Eaux big enough for your rig and you can * cut through* to pick up the N154 towards Tours by passing Rouen and saving a few quid on tolls, there will be waste disposal but like most places in N France in winter no water
