Overnight parking in Scotland’s forests

Very good news, heading up to Crinan tomorrow and then further North for a week, might try one of the sites.

Brilliant. I hope it is popular and used appropriately.

There are three places near us which we might use for a night away when given the all clear to do so and one a bit further with water nearby so kayaking may be a possibility :)

Thanks for the info. I’ve saved it in case it’s useful at a later date.

The fearnoch. One just outside our village is a nice place to stop picnic tables and great views and a few good forest 🌳 walks. 😷🤗

Used to stop there a lot for dog walks when we had our cabin at Dalavich. I broke my ankle at Glen Lochy.

This is very good news

I've just sent them a message via their website where it says 'send a message if you have a question'. The email has been returned by Postmaster Scotland saying that the email address has restricted access.
Has anyone else tried emailling?

Sounds great i just hope people take all their rubbish home and dont spoil it for others

Sorry but when they start charging £5 per night why should blue badge holders get it for free i know some on here are blue badge holders so im sure some will be loading the ammunition to fire at me, i just dont see why sorry if this offends you

I also hope there is no rubbish left.

But I can’t see an issue with paying a fiver to stay somewhere, normally in pristine surroundings, on good hard standing and maybe basic services. Forestry has created those facilities and they cost money to build and maintain and maybe, just maybe, if they are used often we will get something like the aires of Europe being established here.

If laying out a fiver offends you when others less fortunate go free then you know what to do...

Wully
I have no issue at all in paying a fiver i think its good value
My issue is why should blue badge holders get it for free, if they can afford a MH and fuel to get to scotland they can pay a fiver to camp the same as the rest of us

I thought the reason for issuing a blue badge was to make it easier to park closer to shops or facilities for those who are less able than others. I didn't think it was for a free ticket.
