Anyone any idea how to clean inside/ change bulbs on my Hobby A65 awning light?. The holes at either end of the clear part are I believe just drain holes. I don't want to break anything but the clear plastic central bit seems to be stuck solid and the cover doesn't want to move either.

It looks like a one piece unit. The light fitting would be held on by a couple of bolts and you could probably remove the whole unit from the inside above your fridge.

I bet once removed the back of the light will be able to be removed for cleaning or bulb change

Behind the Dometic grill and above the fridge is the back of a cupboard box, housing the oven and sealed against the outside wall, so no access without taking the oven out. I suspect you could be right though as the oven was an afterthought by the manufacturer. thanks.

remove the fridge vent and reach up in to feel if there are bolts

Tried but it's all boxed in.

cupboard above the fridge????

Yes, the cupboard houses the oven fitted when new by Hobby as an extra and now with a mushroom vent on the roof.

You sure those two holes don't have screws at the bottom (top)? They certainly don't look like drain holes.

Ooher, just like ours, I will watch this to see what the solution is. Have you tried speaking to Hobby?

Looking at photos of the same lights after a swift Google I believe you need to prise the cover away from the van at the top. Bear in mind you don't want to force a tool in too far or you will be trying to lever the whole light off the van. One of the plastic trim removal tools would probably be best for the job.

Will try again. Maybe I missed something.

IT'S DONE. Thanks for all the help. I know others have had similar problems, so I have attached photos to help. I feel daft now having failed for over 4 years to take it apart. I do now believe it is bolted through to the inaccessible oven housing, but as the lights are in a seperately moulded part I still would not have been able to access the lights if removed. The small holes are drain holes. As can be seen in the pictures, the clear plastic does clip in to the white moulding. It was solid with age and gunge but determination, bravery and a lettle screwdriver sorted it. Thanks again for all the suggestions and I hope this helps others. Now for the cleaning.

Good to see, and great pics showing how it all comes apart.

Change those halogen bulbs for LEDS now, they must be costing you 40 watts

So you removed the rubber from around the plastic lens?

Yes will change for LED's.
The clear plastic lens just clipped into the white plastic shroud, but firmly held in with dirt!. I had tried to lever it out before but came to the conclusion it was sealed in to make it waterproof.
