Pity your not over the west coast. You could've gone to The Western Isles. Took an "english" couple @Ralph-n-Bev to post some pics to convince me its a must see when visiting Scotland. Stick it on your to do list

Embarrassingly I have to admit that even though I live about 25 odd miles from Stonehaven I have never been to Dunnottar Castle. I feel a bit sick just admitting it.
