Me and the good lady, Helen hope to be on the road for about 3 weeks ... where is best to post? Or just continue it on this one.. were only going UK but dont want post in wrong place. Cheers

If i were you i would take the previous advice, keep it on here, load it with pics and ditties and all of the mistakes so we all know we are human and can say to ourselves " i made that cock up"

The first mistake is living in SE Kent and going to the UK (y).

All of that is obviously a personal choice with many factors but once you go over to europe you may not want to take your holiday in uk again.

Photo of the day thread also needs updating but only stick one decent photo in there and then just advertise your thread so something like "Currently stratford enjoying ice cream and hot weather but more photos on our thread "UK travels" in the chat section". A photo from the inside of the outside is also a good traffic thread.

Enjoy your travels

Don't worry too much ... we will find you. :) The beauty of this forum is that we all muck in/mix together so wherever you post at least some of us will see some of your posts.

Nothing wrong with continuing this thread even.

enjoy your 'time off'. :)

I don't know but if you click the 3 little dots does change title come up as an option?

Well here goes... we started off at the New Forest, at a site called Green Hill. Lovely place we are both familiar with wanted a switch off for a couple of nights. Heading somewhere we knew, just to make sure of everything on the van worked ok. The site has grown in size and popularity over the years we have been going. What used to be 12 quid a night is near on 30 now. I managed to get my fishing in on 1of 3 lakes. Enjoyed our time and roams about the forest. Lazy couple of days to then get up and move on to Morn Hill caravan club site. Arrived early in the pelting rain and chose to carry on and get the bus into Winchester for some sight seeing in the wet. Couple of beers and back for food in the van. All good thus far.

So, to keep you up to date, left Winchester and managed to make it to Durdle Door on route to Wyke Regis, lovely place but thriving today a little steep for parking a MH. 15 squid. However, Helen apparently wanted to tick this off the list...so I concurred. However, roads a little mayhem but fun in a strange way. Arrived at our site Martleaves farm. Pleased with the view. Please note...the wind was up and the missis wants me to make a disclaimer that her hair is not normally like the image attached ??

The good lady will soon start talking about hairdryers.....at this stage the best tactics are to turn the conversation round to haircuts in my opinion.....getting an inverter to cover the hairdryer is a minefield !
Great pics. Loving the good ladies hair, so natural (y)

Wyke Regis to Beer Head today. Arrived in good weather and remains the same. Beautiful part of the UK. Great views and a lovely place. Beer in Beer of course...as per pic...the roads here though...my gosh. Have you ever held your breath and think small just to make it through some gaps...???? 2.5tdi did us well today for some inclines. A German fella was struggling however.

Up and away this morning, but couple of hits of news from home. Firstly Helen's uncle passed away which rocked her a bit followed by a phone call off a neighbour informing us that the car at home had been broken into. However, strangely nothing taken just all the bits emptied out on the passenger floor. They didnt take the tom tom but scattered old currency on the floor no sign of forced entry either. Who knows...there are chancers out there. Car getting old so will leave keys next time ? not letting these things shake us too much as they seem heightened when away but nowt that can be done. So onwards and upwards we are now in Colliford, Bodmin. A very chilled site and basic facilities. Sun shining and a footbath and a bit of reading will relax us up nicely! ?

Please please go to temple and check out the church, connection with the knights Templar tight road but just drive past the sign saying church and reverse down ( dead end )there’s a lay bye in front of church . About one mile from A30 but centuries away from now !!!!

Up this morning, no rush not having a big drive today- just over to St Mawes. Going on to a site called Merrose Farm. Here were going to allow the dog have a good stretch. I would like a bite to eat (out or in) and wash it down with a beer for the football kick off @15.00. After a lazy day yesterday and it being a touch cooler today... do i remain in shorts or go jeans...decisions decisions...just like, ketchup or brown sauce on my bacon butty. ?? tough life eh?! Keep ya posted soon

Today had about a 50 min drive and decided to go to Merrose Farm CAMHC site arrived and like our spot. Wanted blue loo but not available to have if you dont have cash... darn poor planning on my behalf. But got some in so all good. Walked the costal path to Portscatho. Lovely and balmy afternoon and then the sun popped out. Maybe onward tomorrow but who knows. We shall see...currently planning that element. ? The church is the one @Thegeneral recommended. Have a great avo all.
