Just a few bits from our travels so far, had some brilliant wild camping with no issues at all.
Started off at Lock Lommand in beautiful sun shine were we wild camped in one of the many large lay bys off the road just pass Luss. Then we travelled on to Lock Lynnee where we pulled in for our dinner and to our amazment just on a rock oppisite us we sat and counted 43 seals sun bathing with one huge bull in the middle, we stayed all afternoon with various cars pulling in and shareing the afternoon with us, just magic watching them in and out of the water.
From there we travelled on to one of our favorite camp sites Abercrombie Croft at Arrisaig pitch 13 right on the most beautiful white beach with so many rock pools , just beautiful. stayed there for 4 nights.
On our way from Arisaig we we seen the Steam Train on its journey to Fort William, Ed deceided we would keep up with it on its journey down the valley, we managed to pull in and take some photos before following it on its way.
We then called in at Fort William to top up our supplies then found a excellent lay by well off the road on the A82 where we spent the night. Then on to Fort Agustus and the locks were we were amazed to see a large Life Boat going through the locks, being the nosey things that we are we asked the crew why such a large life boat was in the dock, they explained they were making their way from Newcastle up the Caladonian Canal then out into the sea for a refit at Holyhead, a really strange site indeed.
From there we went down the road to Invermorinson, were we met to with Ray and also Clarify both proudly displaying there FUN badges. While we were there we walked about 8 miles of the Great Glen. a beautiful walk not to difficult but the views were amazing.
From there we made our way to another of our favorite places Plockton where we have wild camped for 3 nights going down to the car park over looking the harbour it is just beautiful, the Palm trees have not been effected by the winter and roses are out it is a gem of a place and in the gulf stream so has a better climate. Our next place is the Isle of Skye.
Sorry for any spelling mistakes no spell checker on Eds lappy. I am going to try and get some photo's on.
