Eddie went to start the Hymer on Monday nothing zilch, so we thinks must be the battery been on 7 years so off we goes New Battery switches on still nothing.
Eddie then decides it must be the starter gets on e bay various quotes from Breakers yard between £45 and £60. So take the starter motor off phone the local garage who gives us a telephone number of a small work shop in Pennyford who repairs them amongst other things.
Take it up to work shop the guy tests it says nothing wrong with starter in fact there is hardly any wear in it at all, but cleaned terminals put new nuts on cleaned it up, told Ed to clean all the wires and put it back on. When Ed asked how much the guy would not take anything (we insisted he did) .
Gets back Ed under van again re fits starter after cleaning all the bits, it worked first time no hesitation and has kept working, so worth checking before anyone buys a new starter motor.
