My OH is over 70, so although he has passed medical etc to drive our 5 ton m'home, it made sense for me to take on the driving, just in case he 'fails' next time. To be honest, I prefer to drive than be a passenger, and OH says my skills as a navigator are *$%p. (Just as well we have sat nav, since his are no better once he starts snoring)!!!

OH passed her driving test at 17, me in my mid-20s, so she's the more experienced driver. We split the car driving on all long trips.

In the MH I normally do the start and finish bits of the journey, with OH doing her share on the Autoroute/Motorway sections, no problem. She's not mad keen on the fine manouevering of the MH into aire spots or campsite pitches, but she definitely does her bit.

There's no way we'd travel as far as we do without her doing her share - it's a team effort.

This is so much a non-topic. I drive the car all over the UK and could/would drive the van anywhere, but why would I? I can navigate better. A few years back I drove Sandy and I and his brother and wife to Scotland and was the sole driver. The 4 of them sat there while I would pull over, get out the map and drive on. There is a limit to my saintly behaviour, and he can drive the van. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

many many years! since I was a kid
My mrs used to be an excellent driver. she grew up on a farm and was driving tractors by age 7 and her father was a lorry driver who drove artics with a trailer so taught her very well

she still drives all our vehicles but dislikes doing so on long journeys. up until a couple of months ago she had only moved our current van on and off the drive. that was until i was taken into hospital and she needed to come collect me, driving from a campsite 15 miles away. that involved rural roads and a particularly busy A road dual carriageway which gave her confidence. now every journey she asks if i would like her to drive instead of me. however I am a terrible passenger in my own vehicles.

ultimately though she usually sleeps through most journeys in the motorhome, meaning she arrives refreshed and ready to walk the dogs as soon as we reach our destination. the downside I find is that i have to turn up the satnav volume to mask the snoring coming from the passenger side of the cab:ROFLMAO:

My wife drives about the same amount of time as me. Glad as it breaks things up when another person shares the driving.

My wife was driving when we hit the low tunnel warning signs in Rouen a few years back.

My navigation skills had got us there::bigsmile:
