Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for organising the large cupboards that are under single beds (two single beds with infill cushions and steps between them). The cupboards are huge under ours - a good thing but need organising to make them work better!

What are you wanting to store?

One of ours has a hanging rail so it's a wardrobe. The other one a shelf, bottom is used for gin and wine.

We never hang anything up so I think storage bags sounds good, or maybe the little boxes from ikea. On our recent and first trip in this van we used them for towels, blankets, warmer clothes (not needed), fan, shoes and general odds and ends. Just got rather messy. I just wondered what others did with them. I don’t suppose we will ever use all the space.

We've got a relatively small wardrobe. I've shelved it off. She's bought loads of square dividers that she uses to stuff with different types of clothes. I use few packing cubes... which works because I have less variety of types of clothes. At home I can stuff two weeks of pants and socks in one, rolled up t-shirts in another, jeans and shorts in a third and jumpers in a fourth. Then just dump them in the van when we go. Easy to find stuff when getting dressed. Bottom of the wardrobe is now a large laundry tub. And spare towels and bedding in vacuum compression bags.

Just a suggestion, and one which Jacob Reese-Mogg may not agree with despite his advocacy of free enterprise, but it occurred to me that if you were pop over to France for the day you could probably pick up a case of Vino Colapso, three 5 gallon Jerry cans of diesel, two hundred Disque Bleu, five pouches of Old Holburn, two of Borkum Riff, a couple of Morrocans (or four or five Somalians) and stuff the whole lot in there.
You'd probably make enough to pay your electric bill this Autumn - maybe even until end of November.

Of course you'd need to be a bit careful - probably best not to accept payment in Bitcoin, Hrvynia, Ruble or Sterling as these are all a bit dodgy nowadays. And don't have any cheese in your fridge as border force are pretty hot on that nowadays.

Insurance may be a problem, especially as there wouldn't be seat belts fitted for everyone, so you may think about wrapping half a dozen candles in black insulation tape with a pp9 battery on the outside and popping it in with them. If you get caught just say they threatened to blow themselves up along with you and the van if you didn't comply, then plead PTS, claim compensation, buy a Morello and then live happily ever after off the Social as a FLT.
YMMV, of course, but it might be worth a go, and even if it doesn't work out quite right you should get a few quid out of the Tik-Tok videos, the book and Netflix rights.

Use these in our over cupboards, but can be used anywhere and come in various sizes…..IKEA. (y)

I like the look of those, do they have lids or are they open topped? We used packing cubes which are great for clean clothes but we'll need a different solution for the dirty ones.

Ikea have all sorts, with and without lids. Cardboard, plastic and cloth. We just measured the space we wanted to fill and got boxes to maximum storage in the area.

We use two sizes, without lids in the overhead cupboards, so that the clothes stay together but can go higher than the box sides in order not to have to squash the clothes in tight.

All those boxes are my wife’s, I’ve got the overhead lockers the other side. Easy to remove to pack in the house.

Also use them for our ‘office’….….

We have two wardrobes. A medium size which is swmbos and a tiny one which is mine made even smaller by a set of wire shelves of tools that are frequently needed. Leaves room for one decent shirt and trousers if needed for a 'formal' occassion (never used so far)

We’ve got a small wardrobe, but we only take non iron stuff (including my wife’s dresses) away with us. Roll them nicely and put them in the boxes…….it’s how we used to pack our luggage when we used to do our motorcycle tours. Three weeks away on them teaches you to be creative with packing.;)

We use the small wardrobe for our day sacks and a few other things we want to keep close to hand. (y)

We have a double height wardrobe, so both under bed wardrobes have been adapted. One is now Jacques bed with the door removed and storage underneath, the other has a shelf for the microwave with pull out bins under the shelf.

I like the look of those ikea boxes and when looking at their storage online have also found some zipped bags on ikea site which should fit too and carry warmer clothes in case they are needed.

More than toes wet now!
Our AT has got the half-dinette option fitted which, in itself is great, getting to the storage underneath the couch is (was) a pita!
You have (had) to lift off the seat cushion and the seat base without moving the seat back cushion and make sure when replacing the seatbelts were positioned correctly.

So, to make access easier I removed the front panel under the couch, added a bit of strengthening to replace this and fitted a couple of drawers (not fully finished photo) that pull out into the foot \ leg space.

What difference! Pull the handle and you're in!(y)
