On the 27th we are going up to Hayes in Walsall to order a Pilote P740C.
Any advice about buying, Pilote options etc would be appreciated.
As this is the Pilote forum any advice, what's good/bad, essential options and ones to ignore. What extras to get on ordering and what to purchase at a later date.
There is no substitute for experience.
Thanks in advance.

None at all except to say we've had ours for 4 years and they're solid - we had very minor probs with the cooker but all sorted without any fuss. And that's exactly what you get from Hayes from start to finish - sorted properly with no fuss!

We added a second leisure battery, lot cheaper doing it ourselves. Go for the twin reversing camera option. We also added a short piece of bath waste water pipe with a 90° bend on the end just sticking out from the nearside of the van to the waste water tank outlet, otherwise you just drop your grey water somewhere in the middle of the ground under the van. Also didn't like having to drain the fresh water tank by taking lid of under the bed and leaning down to extract the plug at the bottom, so fixed on a piece of 1/2" hose to the rear offside corner and fitted a tap on end. Easy to drain water now.
Must say that we are very pleased with the van. Only trouble we had was the table had to be replaced, no problem, and or of the dimmable LEDs doesn't work, but we will get that fixed when van gets serviced.
Hope this helps.

Thanks.
Was going for options that have to be fitted during build to strt with, 4.4t chassis, 150hp engine, auto box.
Will get solar power and another battery later.
They only do a single Leversing camera, built into the rear top paneling, but has a 170' view angle so get a good view behind.
Other options are the lifting bed to increase the garage height.
Will look at your modification ideas to make draining waters easier.
Any other tips you have discovered would be helpfully.

You will probably find the monitor fitted by Pilote has a second video input to which you or Hayes can connect a second reversing camera at a later date if required. Hayes should be able to confirm this or otherwise.

We find the single camera enough.

Had our Pilote over 8 years and can’t find anything better!

Forgot to add that we also purchased through eBay a spare wheel and proper Fiat spare wheel holder. I looked hard and some length to try to fit the spare in front of the rear axle, but had to go with the default. I am not a fan of "gunk to get you home" repairs, and feel more relaxed when driving knowing that I can change a punctured wheel should the occasion arise.
