I would like to include this excellent site on the thread as it is central for road cycling or mountainbiking. Many trails can be found in the area on the Wikiloc website and the Orangegrove is very central for some excellent trails with spectacular scenery. Riding along the dry riverbed of the Rio Algar from the seafront in Albir up to the dam wall in Guadalest is one of my favourites. One of my daily routes on a road bike was from the site up to La Nucia, over to Finnestrat, down to Villajoyosa, then along all the beaches of Benidorm, on to Albir and back to the site. Yet again fantastic scenery. Coffee stop was at Metabike cafe in Albir. Metabike cafe has a ride on a Sunday that is open to cyclists. I hope to join them on one of their rides this Winter, when we go back.

The Orangegrove has all the amenities us motorhomers need, the showers and toilets are very clean and the site has a swimming pool and a small bar. A covered shaded area by the pool can be used to eat your evening meal if you so choose. ( Whilst we were there the whole site had a Payella Party which took place around the pool........see the pics on Facebook )

David Tapiz the site Manager is very helpful with any enquiry, he even improved our limited Spanish whilst we were there. Dogs are welcome and some of the walks along the lanes and down to Albir through the Orange and Lemon groves are just heaven.

If you visit between May 1st and 31st October, the price actually goes down to 10 Euros inc Electric. We hope to be back there in August to ride with our German, Dutch and Spanish friends.

Hope this helps anyone looking for a good base around the Benidorm area for good quality cycling.
