Our trip this time is coming to an end  and speaking to a Portuguese man we began reminiscing about portugal and the people. :D
We began wondering how much longer the traditional Portuguese people will be around, with all the youngsters wanting to live in cities have fast cars and earn good money. :)
I can't see them getting old and moving back working the land, trading the car for one of the many pick up trucks seen here and doing what their grandparents did. :D

Only today an old boy went past with his guttering on his scooter. :ROFLMAO:
DSCN3097.JPG
DSCN3099.JPG

We have seen many things here, and if only the camera was handy.

On this trip we spent time with @Sundowners Nigel and Pamala and helped with the picking of the grapes, so next year we have to come back and sample the wine, they took us to the finest restaurants and we really enjoyed it, even the goat. (y)
Loved the fact they are living the Portuguese life, Nigel took me to his neighbours house and we ended up in his cellar..............and yes his wine is good even though it was early morning. thanks see you next year. (y)

We met up with @JJ at Coimbra always good to catch up, the magic show was on and I must thank him for escorting my princess to the show and mixing her with the famous artists from all over the world. :ROFLMAO:
Janie loved it, we had a brilliant time. (y)
Oh  also met @Smith and Sharp Gary and Sue there, nearly forgot, lovely meeting you two. (y)

I will say having been coming here for a while now, and the Algarve is more busy than usual, you can't beat the proper Portugal, away from there, if the weather is dry. ;)
We loved it. Back home in Javea next week. (y) Bob and Janie.

P.S. Janie wants to point out that she loves goats but doesn't eat them. Nor anything else with legs....

Nice reading your little ditty about helping sundowner pick his grapes you probably didn't notice us as we were the 2 old people in the old motorhome that had been there for twice the length of time you were there.Just to remind you, we were called paul and liz ,we had never met sundowner before and although we were not best mates like you 2 we helped out like any other funster would and apart from picking a few grapes you didn't help with the trench digging or anything else.
Just because we don't have a new motorhome please don't blank us we were polite to you until we realised it was a waste of time

Oh yes did not know your fun user name, remembered Paul ;) I don't know about old I'm nearly 62 and never realised you had a problem having an old van, I am not one to judge anyone by what they have or what they do, I remembered you said your a lorry driver I have no problem with that we had trucks for 18 years.
You have got us thinking who the fun member was we met last week.:) I have met many funsters over the years, some you get on with others you don't, if we came across as blanking you sorry but it was not intended, ;) and there's us looking at older motorhomes. Bob.

Ps It also gets my back up when people call our motorhome that little van, that has more stuff in it than most :D2 we have had bigger ones, we have a small one by choice. :D

castro marim - still looks like old portugal ,the "shop", where the guy on the scooter probably bought his guttering ,is worth a visit
-pretty much unchanged for many years!

Sounds great, really enjoyed reading that story and loved the goat ps.

We are at our house in Jávea for 1/2 the winter in and out, mostly by ferries, weather permitting.

But Motorhome will be here or we might have nipped over, so-to-speak.

I am afraid this year's grape crop got burnt in the fire. :(

JJ
Can't put a sad sorry to hear that, you'll have to tell us how much longer you'll be at Qm as we were coming to visit soon. We're making our way down but I know you'll be moving to the Algarve shortly?

Usually I would but not this year...

I plan to stay on Quinta Majay until the middle of December at least.

Then have Christmas and New Year socialising with the Party Crowd a in the Algarve a little before returning to Paradise.

(It got a tad packed last season.)

Lots of pottering to do here when it is not too hot. (y)

... But of course... Man plans, God laughes...

I think you might have an inferiority complex about your old motorhome. :D You shouldn't have. I've not met any Funster who judges others on what they drive, they might exist but that is not so of Bob and Janie who after years of rally marshalling for motorhomefun proved that thousands of times with genuine warm welcomes extended to fellow funsters day and night in all weathers.

Good. Can you pm me your coordinates then please and I'll see where you are and let you know when .

The routine for first time guests is for them to find their way to Junction 22 of the IC8.

Text (or call) when you are near and I walk up to meet you at Pinheiro Bordalo which is the closest village.

Now where is that red carpet...?

It was lovely meeting you both and we appreciated your help and company, but feel it is unnecessary to make derogatory comments about other fun members and our long term friends. The animosity you felt must have been one sided as we didn't get that impression. So sorry you felt that way. We told you many times that the age of your van is not at all relevant, ours is only three years newer than yours. To be honest it was you who made the snide comment on someone having a small van. Motorhome Fun motto is to accept one and all equally, has been from day one, sorry if you feel differently about that, maybe you have to ask yourself if you are being a little bit over sensitive. Take care and enjoy the rest of your trip.

Dear Nigel and bobandjanie please show on my post where I put anything about liking or disliking a small van. Every body has their vans that suit their own needs and desires

EXACTLY ------- It was not on your post, we are just pointing it out that you mentioned on more than one occasion about the size of their van in conversation between us all whilst together. No one other than yourselves mentioned your vehicles age. If you are saying it in jest, then a few smilies won't go amiss.
