Hello,
We have an Omnistor 5200 awning on the motorhome and want to attach a Kampa air tent to it, the awning is a 2020 model.

All the instructions and UTube videos show it attaching to the awning front rail where there is a channel that takes the round chord, but on the Omnistor casing that's fixed to the motorhome there is a second channel, which is obviously nearer to the motorhome which would give the tent a closer fit to the motorhome.

Would appreciate if anybody can confirm that this rail is in fact for a tent attachment, i have posted a picture of the end of the Omnistor awning showing the channel.
Thanks.

That channel near the Torx screw is a track that can take the Keder strip on an awning. Keder is a cord (usually 4mm, 6mm, 7.5mm or 8mm) that is sewn into a strip of material. That is then fed, as you say into a Keder track.

If I am reading your photo correctly, then there is a second Keder track out of the picture, to the right. The choice is simple. Pick the one that works best for you. However, if you want to be able to drive away, you may need a figure of 8 Keder connection.

I have a 4m Omnistor and we can fit an awning to it (Thule G3 Residence). Recently Mrs DDJC has cut and sewn a Keder strip into mozzie netting so that we can try to keep the little bastards from eating us. The Keder she used was 6mm.

I'd experiment and work out which is best for you.

Cheers appreciate the reply. Was just after some reassurance the track nearest the motorhome wall could be used. Everything I've read only mentions the track on the front of the wind out bit of the awning.

I have just examined my Omnistor and I don't have the track that is showing in your picture. Does the fixed track run the whole length and is it accessible from either end? Is it a new or an older model?

Hello and thanks again for the reply.

Yes the awning is 2020 model, I have since found out that the rail is for the keder cord attachment, apparently its part of the LED lighting rail that runs the length of the awning.
regards
Dave.
