omnistep trouble (1 Viewer)

I have a swift with a single slide out omnistep. just lately it seems to really struggle to go in and out, The battery is ok does anyone have any other ideas

try greasing the joints and mechanism, or at the very least de-rusting it.

also check the electrical connections for corrosion.

If corroded, cut off and make new ends, reconnect and coat with petroleum jelly or similar.

i agree with wildman, a good clean-up and grease where needed will sort it.

the motor isnt really very powerful and corrosion will really make it work hard ans slow.

I have had 2 step switches fail on my Swift in 4 years, if it turns out to be the switch don't buy one from a caravan dealer, they are much cheaper from a general car shop, I have seen the same switch sold as a window switch and the price difference was £0.60 to £5.40.
