Hope you are all having a good time - wish we could have been there but still busy organising Sunshine Meet! Please let us have some feedback at the end to see if this one might be a good one for next year?

The 'Old Bush' Blues Festival
Approaching the village of Callow End from Worcester the camping area is well signed.

The level camping field is the village sports park consisting of clean shower & toilet block, dish washing area, external water supply and black waste point. (It's actually a rodding point which is opened up for our use.) There were two additional thunder cabins for camper's use. Camping is overseen by Nick who's onsite most of the time and very helpful. All partying appeared to be over before 23:00 every night. Due to the older demographic I didn't see or hear of any fighting;) Camping available from Thursday to Monday (midday on both days).

An 8-10 minute walk passing the Callow End social club (which had reduced the price of its beer during the blues festival) and you're there. For those with reduced mobility there were many using buggies but access to the bar from the festival area didn't look wheelchair friendly.

The Old Bush has two event marquees. A few soloists performed in the pub bar. The marquees both have chairs/picnic tables but it's probably best to bring your own. Dogs are allowed in the marquees. Beer can be purchased at the pub bar or in a small tent in the garden area. A selection of real ales are available. Surprisingly the drinking glasses are actually glass. Food is also available and looked/smelled rather good.

The performances consisted of solo blues guitar/vocalist to 5 piece. Genres covered blues, rock, rockabilly, folk, soul, funk, and reggae.

See attached document.

My opinion -
A great weekend of live music, real ale and safe camping for less than £50. Would I go again?

Definately(y)

A big thanks to @Wombles for investigating and arranging this event with discounted price.

Dates for Old Bush Blues for 2018 are definitely 17-19th August inclusive http://www.oldbushblues.co.uk/
A couple of members have asked if there is any discounted ticket offer for next year so we've emailed Matt to see what might be possible & will post here once known. They currently have an Early Bird offer of £52 per person (includes camping) plus £1 p&p when booking via their website.
If there is enough interest then this could be a Funster meet again although unlikely that us Wombles can be there as it will be another busy summer for us with all the other events & festivals!
