Okay water pump

Just gone into the motorhome and the water pump is making a loud noise and is very warm. It’s been on the drive since last weekend.
I notice that I had left the control panel switched on as well as the water pump.
I doubt this is connected but I’m not sure.
I have switched it off to be safe

If its a diaphragm pressure pump.... Shurflo, Fiamma etc... They are designed to run dry. It will feel hot because of the time running.
I'm assuming the water tank is empty?

Maybe replace it. Not expensive to purchase a new one and only took my hubby an hour to replace ours in our Burstner. And may I add this was in Marmande en France, not a bad word was uttered either. But we knew it was kaput when we heard loud noises whilst flushing the toilet. Good luck
