Hi Hagnap

Some of us are going as early as early June.

We won't be leaving England until 24 August and will hopefully get down to Spain for the 2 days Fiesta before we set sail 1st September.

Would be great to have others there for the party.

John: Would love to see you down there too - make plans now.

She can spend all day in one shop :Eeek: Shes a assistances worst nightmare, as she will waste hours of their time, and then walk out without buying anything.

Hi Geo,
Are you going across by ferry or using the tunnel? We're saving our Tesco vouchers to save a few bob on the tunnel.
We're hoping to be able to cross on the 24th as well , maybe late 23rd, aiming to be at the rendevous Thurs. Looking at the map it's about 1500 miles so I'd prefer to take 4 days to get down there.

Maybe we can have a convoy!

That's quite a saving! Well worth investigating further.
I'd calculated fuel costs at 1500 miles and 10mpg equals 150 gallons at £4.50 per gallon (who knows where the exchange rate's going to be in August) equals £675.
The tunnel is effectively free as we're using Tesco vouchers so all I need to do is check the mileage saved.

Thanks for the thought though.

Regards
Doug

Hi Geo, forgot about Brittany ferries . We are going over to Calais this Sunday, and you ought to hear the ear bashing I am getting about the weather and the ferries from Susan, that's for a 1h.15min crossing, no way could we go via Bilbao, my ears wouldn't stand the pain. :ROFLMAO:

Taking the opportunity to have 3 weeks away, as we have to go down to Lisbon to pick chloe up, so I thought a slight detour to the algarve for a week would be nice.>:)

Then the eldest daughter says "ooooo can we come too?">:) so her; grandson and son-in-law are flying down to Faro next Friday. And the wife has volunteered us for babysitting duties.

Hi olley,
A bit of topic, but if you go near Silves in the Algarve, could you have a quick look at the new camp site there?? It sounds like it might be good for RVs.
We had tried to get down there ourselves over Xmas. but never made it.

Hi Nigel, we haven't booked anywhere but are hoping to get in Obitur Quarteria near Faro, Silves looks to be 40 odd miles away so I doubt we will go near it, if we do I will certainly give it the once over.

As we are going over the Pyrenees there and back I bought myself a pair of fur lined boots, and then today in TKmax ski trousers! reduced from £265 to £20 only snag is they are last seasons colours >:) and I don't ski, :ROFLMAO: but Susan told me they were a bargain.
