Oil catch cans

Hi all.
Has anyone fitted an oil catcher can to an older diesel MH? I have a 1999 2.5tdi and wondered if it was a useful thing to do (as they cost very little).

What do you mean by an oil catch can?
I know some folk do not like the engine breather venting into the intake manifold as it may gum up the inlet valves. Instead they fit a catch can to the breather pipe that they regularly empty. Excessive oil blow by is normally caused by worn piston rings. Why do you want to fit one?

Yes I am talking about the breather pipe.
