Hi everyone just joined the site but found it most useful already. Off to the Costa Brava tomorrow in search of some warmth for a month. Ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo and then hopefully arrive somewhere around Platja D'Aro on Wednesday. Too far ahead to plan after that! Any hints/info from experienced funsters would be appreciated, especially where to go/not to go at Easter! Look forward to meeting some of you in the future. Adios!

We are heading down in a few weeks. Think you will be better off further south weather wise. We along with many go to Benidorm for the micro climate and cheap prices,:)

Wait for me, Just spent 21 years abroad, 15 on the Costa Blanca and missing it like mad. You will love the Brava's.

Is there an aire at Playa de Aro? - only been once tent camping MANY years ago but it was in August - I loved it! I bet it's all built up now along the coast.

Didn't notice an Aire. Stayed at Camping Pinell (ACSI) and there's another site, Camping Val d'Or (open 14/3) right on the beach. Great little town with upmarket marina and lovely promenade. Not over commercialised. Worth a visit if you've never been.

Hi Sedge - just arrived in Platja D'Aro and the info I gave you before is duff. We've just (accidently) come across the Aire. It's in a great position just 2 minutes walk from the main high street. Looks clean and there is clean water and a chemical waste disposal point. There must have been 60 -70 vans on there even at this time of year. By the tans I guess it was people (mostly Dutch & Germans) returning after the winter sun. There is no charge and you can stay for max of 48 hours. If you come off the main road following the Platja D'Aro center signs then when you hit the roundabout in the town turn left, over the small bridge and then first left (just before the fun fair)

Campercontact app shows two very close together, it says one is free 20 places and the other 50 places €8.
It's interesting that you say it's busy as we are on the camp site Cap Blanche in Albir just out of Benidorm and lots of people have left this week.

Too true, lots of northern Europeans think that winter is over in their home countries and leave Spain and Portugal, its the same here in Totana. But with Easter approaching everywhere on the costas will be full to bursting. Something to bear in mind for visiting Funsters.
