We will be arriving at Caen next week from Portsmouth.
Doing some rapid re planning since we can not take the ferry to Santander next week.

Could any kind Funster pleas recommend an aire for our first night or two please?
Arriving at 15:30 ish.

Thank You.

(I have Camper Contact etc. but would welcome your thoughts)

We stopped at the Aire at Bernieres sur Mer last year going the other way, next to road and beach, supermarket, lots of Aires along that coast.

We always stop at Colleville-Montgomery aire, only 10 minutes away but nice little boulangerie, butcher etc.

Another vote for Hermanville. More like 15 mins away so no risk of any migrant issues. Lovely town.

There is an aire just around the corner at Ouistreham, where the ferry actually docks.

Don't use it! Apart from it having a stupid barrier card entry system, it's very close to the dock and has become a target point for illegals.

We like Hermanville too but there is a good selection within half an hour drive.

Thank you for your suggestion.
We checked out HsM on our way to Arromanches.
There was nobody there

If I had read the above more carefully we would have visited the cemetery.

Plumped for a municipal campsite just to get our bearings.

Next move I think is to Argentina.

We often stay below the ramparts at Falaise, quiet nights sleep, right in the town and it’s free. Also have used Hermanville. Happy travels

Thank you.
In the end we headed to the Ile de Oleron, then in the top and out of the bottom of the Dordogne.
Currently in Villeneuve Sur Lot.
Longish drive tomorrow to Pau area preparing for the Pyrenees.
So far about half and half Aires and ACSI campsites.
All well so far
