30 vans set off for a bit of fun,
‘Twas a May bank holiday tho’ lacking in sun,
We had a marquee which kept us dry,
With plenty of space to give crafting a try.

Our Jacobs table was a very lavish event,
We all piled in to a very fun filled tent,
These morning funsters are a generous crowd,
An auction raised £1001 doing Macmillan proud.

Some people were active and went searching for treasure,
While others just enjoyed a bit of well earned leisure,
We drank some gin and the local pub dry,
They never looked thrilled to see us, we weren’t quite sure why.

Music night with uke and fiddle was voted the best,
Those backing singers got louder as the evening progressed
Their rendition of ‘king of the road’ was a bit of a hit,
Although the next morning some people had sore heads and felt slightly ...

Then suddenly it’s all over and the tent is no more,
Lots of goodbyes and hugs, we will meet again for sure.

With much thanks to @Debs for organising this and Mo for providing such a great spot. Special thanks to all who attended for the fun, friendship and being so generous raising £1001 over this bank holiday for Macmillan.

Bumping because Carolyn’s prose ought to be on the front page of recents.
Debs video offering shouldn’t be!

I didn’t realise we had poets amongst us.

My late grandmother thought I was a master poet:rolleyes:

I used to write a few deep and meaningful poems for her and loads of raunchy and rude ones for my friends:whistle:

There were a bunch of Funsters at Mo’s

Who thought that anything goes.

They sang and chatted

And got generally ratted

And then home everyone goes.
