Due to many bad choices over the past number of years I have become obese and badly out of shape.. can hardly walk more than a mile or so.. and had all but given up on cycling which I loved doing ...
A recent doctors visit for hip pain and tiredness , I had a barrage of blood tests and a pelvis X-ray
all blood test came back normal except one, >>> I have early onset type 2 diabetes ... the X-ray revealed I have earl onset hip arthritis ...
I also have hypertension, enlarged benign prostrate , ED and poor libido ... basically knackered ..
I am not a doctor nor do I give any advice , but most of not of my 'conditions" can be traced back to becoming obese
... so something had to be done... and soon .. doing nothing is not an option.
I kew this would be a fight , I had given alcohol and fags years ago , a hard fight, so knew this would not be easy ..
I can trace back weight gain to the time I gave up fags in 2013 .. when I was a healthy 11st
I started a few weeks ago, tracking calories , making healthier food choices, and following the advice of the NHS for pre diabetics
I use Lose-It to track calories and nutrition
I have also started road cycling again,, slowly ..
My weight was 105kg .. 16st 8lb in old money !
My target is 65 - 70 kg .. 10 - 11st
My present weight is 96.7kg .. so a long way to go but determined not only to get there but stay there..
I hope this might help others. and I will post progress weekly ..
If there is enough interest we could start a 'weight watchers' group.. there used to be one but can't find it
thanks for reading
