Just had my van mot'd
It came up with a code error. P0094.
The engine was replaced 4 years ago by a Citroen main dealer, I took it back there to be checked.
Their analysis was that it was an EGR failure.
The engine is only 4 years old and covered 17,000 miles

Now all the internet info. sites that I've checked state that the code P0094 indicates a minor fuel leak, not the EGR valve.
Are any folks on here able to offer any suitable advice?

Seems to be the "standard" garage reply to anything wrong "oh that will be the EGR valve sir"!! Fuel leak should be easy enough to find. Ah, just looked and found this, it's fuel pressure rather than fuel leak!

This code is set when the PCM sees a noticeable loss in fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure sensor or its circuitry are damaged, or the fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, or fuel filter are faulty, this can cause a decrease in fuel pressure and therefore cause a P0094 code.

Was the engine management light showing?prompting the mot station to check the reason?
If not why did they check for obd errors?

Ps checking my obd instructions indicates that P0094 is a fuel leak, small,as advised by Lumpy

The code description is nothing more than a starting point.
The fault may be a leak or faulty pump causing reduced pressure or a faulty pressure or flow sensor thinking there's reduced pressure.
It's never simple which is why a garage will start swapping things in the hope it sorts it.....and bumps up the bill.

No engine management light showing. The testing station was performing anti pollution test and the system showed up a slight fault.
I went back to the main dealer who fitted the replacement engine because when I had a major problem with the original engine which was due to a known fault, but mine missed the recall because of change of ownership, the garage/ Citroen refused to pay up because I hadn't used a local chap to do an oil change, (bastards) The upshot was I had pay for a new engine.
So you can understand why I went back to the main dealer

Had a similar code error with my Kia Sorento... This was low fuel pressure caused by blocked filter...I had the dreaded tank delamination and was very pleasantly surprised when Kia replaced the talk at their expense...the car was 14 years old at the time and not been near a Kia garage for 12 of those

when was it last serviced? the fuel filter housings are notorious for problems

I would suspect possible injector leak back is excessive on one or more injectors, P0094 small leak doesn't mean fuel leak it’s loosing fuel pressure.
Have a leak back check done on injectors to eliminate a injector fault

When did the code log?
Did they clear code and it returned?

The engine has only done about 28k km and service not due until 40k
Inow plan to take it to a local garage and get them to check it out. I've more faith in him than the main dealer who supplied and fitted the new engine.
