I have an OBD 2 reader I got for the motorhome, I never had cause to use it, but after using on the car recently to clear a light, I decided to investigate using it on the van.
This is my port on the motorhome, I believe an OBD 1.

I can get an 1 to 2 adapter from ebay but both seem to have male connectors.
Am I missing something ? they also seem to vary in the number of pins from 10 to 16 ?
Will this fit my OBD 1 port ?
TIA

The type of adaptor needed depends on your vehicle. Pre OBD2 there were no standards, Fiat use a 2/3 pin affair with 2 plugs VAG use 4 pins on 2 different (colour) 2 pin sockets Mazda/Ford used a half round 12? pin device).

Update time

I had a rummage behind the grey connection block above and found the OBD 2, so no need for an adapter.
I plugged in and it made a connection so all good. I don't have any codes to clear and hopefully it'll stay that way.

No idea what the grey block does but at least I can now look up a code if I get a light on dash.

Communicator knows the Older models.
As he suggests Multiecuscan talks fiat and does a lot more than generic readers.
