I’m sure I’ve seen a comprehensive list on here for NT properties that have parking available for Motorhomes. Can anyone direct me to it if it is on here please.

We are looking at NT properties in the Devon and Dorset counties.

I would be interested if there is one , told by NT to contact each site and ask.

Hi, we normally e mail them before travel, most sites that have coach access have space. The other thing you have to keep an eye on is the roads to site, but if there is coach acces your normally ok.

do you get free parking if your a member?

We have parked in a few NT properties with a 8.5m Tag.

However always best to ring them and ask as we have found a couple of places we couldn't get into and others where the staff/volunteers have been excellent in making sure we have a spot to park, occasional cones out, escorted out of the entrance as best exit rather than the official one.

By escorted don't mean told to s*d off.

Found in a couple of places the long arm fiat mirrors are a bit of a tight fit (or not) through the entrance gate/arch.

What do NT do to you if you are a member and overnight in their car park?

If you stayed without asking first, I would think they would ask you to leave
If you had asked and been refused, possibly told to leave

A lot of NT sites are landscape sites, at these you can speak nicely to the attendant (if there is one) and often they will allow overnight parking.
Sites with buildings, I think you have no chance of over nighting

Anybody got any experience of adverse consequences?

Well if they tell you no overnight parking your surely not going to try it on anyway are you ?
I suspect at that stage they would call the police suspecting you have intentions of breaking in.

On our tour of NT properties we asked at those places we thought would be okay, that is, had plenty of room for bigger vehicles. Every one said they were very sorry but insurance complications meant they had to refuse. Don't know if this is unilateral of course, we may just have been unlucky.

Would be interested though if such a list existed.

I don't think we have been able to stay overnight on NT car park.
There always seems to be a warden that comes around after 8.00 to lock the gates.
He will move on anyone left in the car park.

The only NT property that I know allows overnighting motorhomes is Stourhead, but only for Caravan & Motorhome Club members.

We have often parked at NT properties, never had a problem. I just ask at the ticket office if its okay to park in the coach parking spaces. I imagine coaches book in advance so the staff know if the space is going to be needed.

www.annie-and-chris.com/maps/ - this will hopefully lead you info about NT parking for motorhomes.

PS Just found a couple of photos - Castle Drogo (top) and coach parking area at Wimpole Hall.

We regularly use NT properties and if space permits, we drive up to the entrance and ask where they want a large MH to park, but if no space, then we either use the coach bay and inform them afterwards or use the overflow carpark. I cannot remember ever leaving a property because we couldn't park. Some places have enough room anyway and we dump it there. Our experience is that many do not answer the phone if really busy.

It is a CL at Stourhead rather than just staying on in carpark overnight . £20 and booking required.

Parking at NT properties is not usually a problem - it's overnighting, which I believe was the OP query, that doesn't seem to be allowed.

No problem parking during the day , but we are only 6mtrs and can squeeze onto a car bay ....just. We look a bit “ daft”in a coach bay though.

Overnight is not allowed, as I understand it. Probably because of threat to the propert or some understanding they have with local commercial site owners.

However at various shows where there is a NT stand always point out to them that they are missing a trick re revenues. Often the conversation includes “ you’re not the first to mention this.”
