New to this and tried to fill my lpg tank at uk filling station today. The gas pump end fitted over the two lugs on the van but I could then turn the handle to make fast the connection. It seems as if the van side element is not long enough for the pump side nozzle to connect properly. Anyone else have such a problem? Also have no idea how full the gas reservoir is as there is no gauge although apparently some sensor is fitted but I cannot seem to open it on Bluetooth.
Any suggestions welcome!

Ask staff to help. The handle must be pushed towards the van, rotated, then pulled back.

And locked in position.
Then pull up the pump handle and lock that also. Press the fill button until it stops pumping gas

I tried that but with the nozzle pushed r towards the van as far as it would go the handle would not move at all.
I watched some one else do it and they struggled a bit but eventually managed but did say that it was a big of a pig

We've found similar at just one garage - and have had alugas fitted on our last van and our current van so about 10 years of experience.

The garage where the nozzle wouldn't fit our refill point stopped selling LPG very soon afterwards so perhaps there was an issue with the pump?

Get a manual gage fitted to the bottle.

As for the art of filing, see how others do it, I usually find staff are very helpful.

This was at a Morrisons supermarket. I thought all nozzles would be the same.
In the UK, I think they are.

The UK ones have a bayonet fitting.

Unhook the gun from the pump.
Fit to filling point, this usually involves a twist at the end to latch onto the bayonet.
Squeeze the trigger, and ensure it locks (there maybe a catch to keep it locked)
Then press the filling button, and keep pressing it until the gas stops flowing.
Reverse the process.
Pay.

The filling button is usually on the pump, not on the filling nozzle, this is because LPG is super cold (-100c+!) and can 'burn' if it gets on your hands, so good idea to wear a decent pair of ski gloves.

Asda have different style nozzles to morrisons/shell, totally threw me when I visited one down in the cotswolds last year, had such a queue building up behind me for £7 worth of lpg!

Is the filling point inside locker or fixed in the bodywork outside?

If you have the very small fill point it may need an adaptor to fit the LPG pump nozzle. As requested please post a picture of your fill point.

Yes will do. It will be tomorrow as the van is in its lock up until tomorrow morning. I wondered is the round headed screws that bolt it on are too proud of the base plate
