NOVA

Hi

We were hoping to pick up our new motorhome on Saturday but the dealer has advised that he is having problems getting a NOVA number.
Can anybody advise what this means?

We have viewed the vehicle as it was delivered to the dealer several weeks ago so I'm unsure why this should be an issue.

What is a Nova application?
Use the NOVA service to tell HM Revenue and Customs ( HMRC ) you've brought a vehicle into the UK. You can use the service if: you're a VAT-registered business that does not use the secure registration scheme. you're not VAT-registered and you've imported a vehicle from the EU into Northern Ireland.

I thought the Notification of Vehicle Arrivals was completed online?

I wouldn’t have thought there should be any problem doing it.....even in COVID times.

Our dealer told me that NOVA is now taking longer since Brexit. Think ours took about two weeks, then a further 10 days for registration

Sorry for the delay but although there we no import tariffs from brexit the paperwork and order it has to be done from January 1st really has slowed the process down, I just hope it speeds up going forward.
