Our insurance is with Safegaurd which includes Europe cover.

Does anyone who also have the same notify Safegaurd when you are going over the water or is it just covered as standard?

We,ve been abroad for the odd week and not told them but when we went for 3 months I rang them up and told them as didn't want any problems with them saying we hadn't informed them. It's only a phone call so better to be on the safe side.

Never bothered, they insure us for 365 days European cover so never felt the need to tell them, just like I won't tell them I'm off to chester on Thursday:Smile:

Been with safeguard for 10 years, do overseas min 3 times a year. Never informed them, the policy states 365 day cover.
Had 2 breakdowns as well and got sorted quickly on both occassions with their built in breakdown cover..

Official Line from SafeGuard.

As long as you take your certificate, there is no need to inform them that you are leaving the UK.
