Not strictly speaking a motorhome question but it could well be relevant to some of us (1 Viewer)

This forum has had an incredible amount of threads regarding people in the UK who have overstayed their visas and the overwhelming consensus is always "throw them out, get rid of them and good riddance". You yourself said that when you questioned your friend regarding him breaking the same law in the same way said (paraphrasing) that he doesn't really care, you yourself said he will just go somewhere else. How is that NOT being blase to the fact that he is knowingly breaking the law??? And yes, why should he NOT face full punishment for breaking the law in this way?
Many speed in their vans knowingly,,many are driving knowingly with their vans overloaded,,many have brought back more drink and tobacco than is allowed,,People who live in Glass Houses comes to mind.It bit

a certain hypocritical Asian cricketer on the arse last week..BUSBY.

To all those genuinely interested these are the results of my mate staying the best part of 2 months over his 90 days, this is not open for ridicule or to wish him a death sentence btw, this is for the factual information just been given to me by him and I promised to let you all know.

So he arrived at Malaga airport saturday morning gone, he's a bit old school and had his "printed" boarding pass and passport to hand when he was called up passport control followed by check in.

Nothing was mentioned to him by anyone regarding him having overstayed his 90 days, no-one stamped his passport either he says.

The passport officer after checking his details smiled and said "Adios" and waved him through.

So thats it, he's back in blighty, no fine, no custodial sentence, no drama, no nothing.

Will did say that if he'd have hired a car, gone to Portugal for a week and stayed in a lovely hotel and flown from a Portugese airport back to the UK, then the £400 it has cost him for the Covid tests would have paid for his extra week holiday, such is life.

It is still his opinion that Spain needs us and our money no matter what anyone else says, he's adamant that Spain is discussing a "way around'' this 90 days issue. He's also adamant that even if France, Germany and Brussels say "NO" then Spain will show them a middle finger, as that is what Spain historically does when it suits Spain.

So thats it folks, suspense over.

have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone and I hope the weather picks up for us all.
