Not quite because the guy is in a rental car but while the Facebook translation leaves a lot to be desired it does read as an amusing blog. No spelling corrections were made after the copy and paste and no sheep were harmed in this tale. I'd like to know where these creepy villages are! :D2

❤ honeymoon day 1 (Monday) ❤

After a whole year of preparation for the most wonderful day of our lives, a subsequent beautiful wedding and a few beautiful days with our loved ones we broke into our honeymoon on Monday...

The Faroe Islands...
Are a small island group (18 Islands) located in the middle of the Atlantic. There are about 50000 people and 100000 sheep at home. The Islands are connected either by bridge, but mostly by an underground tunnel. Two of them are required. The rest is free. However, some of the islands are only accessible by ferry. And the smallest even by helicopter. The climate is very mild here, but has only 11° degrees all year through more or less. The Nature here is very green but also very rugged. The weather can change all the time. Even before and behind a tunnel, the weather can be completely different.

Currently, the weather in the islands is extremely volatile and it really rains a lot and storms in it.

The beautiful photos basically only arise when we catch a little nice weather gap. Sometimes it lights out and there are some sun rays coming through, but which are already past behind the next mountain or tunnel...

Day 1:
Our flight went from düsseldorf on Monday morning from düsseldorf to the faroe islands to the only airport on the island of dare.

There should be parking no. 4 our little cute rental car, a white ford ka +, waiting for us. Unfortunately, it wasn't. References external links Cost-required telephone call (for the faroe islands are paid by the faroe islands who did not belong to the EU) with the German tour operator who organised us the car from a small ferry landlord, it turns out that they had noted the wrong arrival time. Half an hour later, the vehicle was there and we could go.

From the airport (Island of vágar) we went to our accommodation to leirvik island to our accommodation. For the 74 km, we took about 60-90 minutes. There are no highways here. If possible, you can drive 80 km / h if possible.

We chose a nice cottage on a little hunting house. And here it is really veeeery cozy.

Since we got up mega early in the morning, we were just shopping and left the day cozy and relaxed on the sofa...

❤ honeymoon day 2 (Tuesday) ❤

Day 2:

On the 2th day, we got up pretty early, so about 07:00 First of all, we have the only shop in the only shop. The Gas Station (which is often the only way to be able to go shopping in the places) of our small town (Leirwik: 900 a well-known) Bun. And then we'd have a super cozy first breakfast on the faroe islands.

Now it went to the day. We wanted to see the well-known waterfall molafossur in the small village of gasadalur in the west of the island of dare. So go...

The Road there also took about 1,5 hours and led us through the small picturesque village of labour just before. The Waterfall is a real highlight and you shouldn't miss it. But attention when taking pictures: don't slide on the steep wiede. We were able to park a little higher in the village. In 2012, the village of gasadalur had only 12 inhabitants and was reached only on foot and by helicopter before the construction of a tunnel (released for the public from 2015).

After that, we drove several roads on and off some tunnels to the capital of tomatoes (OP: I think that should be Torshavn) to take a look around there. Unfortunately, the weather quickly failed. It goes very often and very quickly.

The largest shopping centre of the Faroe Islands (I think the only one) with no more than 10-15 shops. It's a little smaller here. A little later after a little walk through the old town and a hot chocolate, we went back home. However, we are going to take a closer look at torshavn from another day. So stay tuned...

By the way, did you know that parking is free on the whole islands? All you have to do is set the right time on your parking box and decide how long you can park there. Because this is carefully respected.

Day 3:

On the third day of our honeymoon, we took the North Islands of the faroe islands. And these are almost right at our front door. From Leirvik, a cost-required underground tunnel leads to the island of bordoy to klaksvik.

Klaksvik is the second largest city in the faroe islands and is the largest city in the faroe islands. There is also a lot of infrastructure, as well as one of the two brewing of the faroe islands.

From Bordoy, you get to the islands of vidoy and kunoy. The others are only available by driver or helicopter.

Since the weather was anything but good, we just ran off everything we found. I think we ran every road on the islands. Well, there's not that much. And once in a while, there's a nice photo coming out.

Here too, we have discovered the one or other cute small and almost extinct villages. Often the villages are located directly above the coast or are located in a bay. You often wonder what brings you here where there is really no infrastructure, and you have to go anywhere for everything. But one of the villages has as small as they are mean. It's actually almost always a church with cemetery in the middle of it.

Although the villages are very abandoned and separated, you usually find the nearest supermarket or a gas station within 10 km.

It is also striking that the Northern Islands are the mountains of all and there are really many falls here...

❤ honeymoon day 4 (Thursday) ❤

Day 4:

Yesterday on the 4th day we went to the small village of gjoegv all the way in the north of eystoroy island. The weather was extremely bad. A lot of rain and already almost stormy. The Village is with its many colorful houses and the river of the middle through goes really picturesque. However, it is known mainly by its natural port in a 200 M Long Canyon.

We could even have a drink here for once. In the guest house there are hot drinks in the cafeteria. There's rarely a café in the villages.

The road to gjoegv leads (at least from one side to the east of the island) via a buttercream route. These are particularly attractive routes here on the faroe islands. This LED to the village of the village. If the weather was better, without rain and fog, the view from here would be magnificent.

And again we were a little lucky. During our visit to the village, it almost didn't rain. However, it became twice as bad as it was before.

Back to leirvik we drove across the west side of the island and still looked at one or another small village that just lay on the track. There are really so creepy many small villages. Just turn over there, drive through and get out.

OP: I'm awaiting their return visit to Tomatoes and hope the weather is half as good as it gets.
