Saw this for sale at the Shepton Mallett Show today. 228kg is not much more than me and a few bits! Anyone seen lower?

Silly Billies!
But I suppose they know that some Silly Billy will buy it. Then they’ll come in here asking for advice......when it’s too late.:banghead:

Jeepers, and we were worried about dropping down to 537kg!

Add a spare wheel, awning & 2nd battery that's a 100kg gone. A couple of solar panels and a few more bits you will be overweight if you fill the water tank. No chance of taking a passenger.
Should be illegal to sell a Motorhome with less than 700kg payload.

There was a post some time back, where the poster had a Motorhome which in theory was overloaded as it came from the dealers IF he took a passenger. It was part of a request for info on upgrading as I recall. Several people suggested he reject the van.

I have long held (several posts on here ) the the current rules on licencing are a farce, B1 holders should be able to drive at least 4t. Most Chassis are already capable. And just a few MAY need tyre changes.

I saw a new motorhome a dealer was trying to sell me with 6 seat belts, with its payload it would be IMPOSSIBLE to take all 6 passengers, when I questioned this I was told my wife could follow in another car with extra passengers and baggage, if that was the case what the hell are the seat belts for, some kind of night time sado-masochism on your pitch

Recently saw an Autotrail in MMM, in the same mode only small payload on 3500 chassis so its seems to be pretty common.

It's allegedly 228kg ... with the 'tolerance' that manufacturers have it might not have any!
