I have been caravanning for 32 years but in 2014 I have"gone over to the dark side"
Hi Guys

We were supposed to fly to New Zealand today to spend Christmas & New Year with our son near Auckland but unfortunately it is not to be. I have had some medical tests and I wanted to wait for the results before "going public"

Not good news I'm afraid - I have been diagnosed with Cancer of the Oesophagus and I am about to start the long haul of chemo & radio therapy and possibly an operation

I will keep you informed as to my progress and whilst I don't intend to "publish it to the world" I thought I would let my fellow funsters know

Best wishes for your treatment
Hoping for a full and speedy recovery

:( Best wishes for a rapid recovery. (y)

Best wishes, hope all goes well and you are not out of action too long.

Sad to hear this but amazing what can be achieved once the treatment starts.
Best wishes.

Sorry to hear this and best wishes with the treatment

Sorry to hear this, wishing you a speedy and complete recovery

Good luck with treatment, hope all goes well. And remember New Zealand will still be there when you have recovered. Stay positive this is just a little hurdle in life. (y)

Not good news I'm afraid
I'm sure you've had better news in the past but I was so impressed with their abilities and mine was too far gone and far too aggressive for operation, I really wish you well and I'd like to share a beer or two discussing this in a year or two's time.

Griff

Terrible news and at such a time - my very best wishes to you and a good outcome.

By the way, I used to have a Plaque on the wall of my last property, it said
"God does not deduct from our allotted time, the time spent sailing."

So, better get back out there. Where shall we go?

Best wishes and thoughts Teuchter and here's hoping you have a very speedy recovery.

Good luck to you for a rapid, speedy and successful treatment, in fact to you and everyone suffering from the dreaded C, there are a couple of people on here dealing with this I’m sure they will be along to offer their support.(y)

I had mouth cancer 7 years ago and know several people who have had various forms of head and neck cancer, from a support group I belong to. It helps if you can stay positive but we have all had bad days too. I look back on the treatment as something it was well worth putting up with, having had several good years since then. I am looking forward to many more to come as well. Best wishes.

Having just read your post I’m sending Hugs and PPP ( positive purple power!) fellow funsters kept me going with ppp when I had my diagnosis and treatment last year .
Here’s to successful and speedy treatment and a full recovery .

Sorry to hear your news, a friend of mine had the same diagnosis this time last year.
Had the op in February, he's now ok. It's quite a long road to recovery and he still struggles to eat properly but the problems are far preferable to the alternative.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
