Can anyone tell me if any of the Park & Rides are motorhome friendly please?
Alternatively can anyone suggest a campsite on a bus route into the city?
Our trip will be in early September
Many thanks in advance
Mike & Ann

Hi, you can park but if I remember right if you overhang the bay you need to buy 2 tickets like alot of places. 🙂

Or you have the option of the campsite. 😁

It's a fine city. 😁

Especially if you don't buy the right ticket for the Car Park ...

The following is a helpful response from the P&R Operator.
I will take up with them about overhanging bays.
Lets see what they say

Good morning,

We do allow motorhome parking as long as you can find a space to accommodate your vehicle as we do not have specific spaces for motorhomes. The best site would be Thickthorn as there is normally more space at the lower end of the car park. We don't have height barriers at any of our Park and Ride sites, but please be aware that Postwick is still being used as a COVID test centre.

I hope this helps!

Best wishes,

Park at Wroxham
(Don't forget to call in and see Roy.)
There's a huge carpark at the rear of the railway station. Catch the bus to Norwich in the village centre.

I always wonder about this one. I've never seen specific instructions saying thats an option.

I'd be worried about this....

Parking Contraventions Codes

  • 74 Using a vehicle in a parking place in the connection with the sale or offering or exposing the sale of goods when prohibited
  • 81 Parking in a restricted area in the car park
  • 85 Parked in a permit bay without clearly displaying a valid permit
  • 89 Parked in a disabled persons parking space without clearly displaying a valid disabled person badge in the prescribed manner
  • 91 Parked in an area not designed for that class of vehicle
  • 92 Parked causing an obstruction
  • 86 Parked beyond the bay markings
  • 93 Parked when the site is closed

Who’s Roy…..? ;)
Wroxham is a small town on the Norfolk Broads but nearly every shop and business there is owned by "Roys". It has become known as "Roysville".
I used to live in a hamlet near there in the early 80s and worked in Norwich - truly a Fine City.

There is a C&CC site in Norwich, bus into city just over the road about 5 minutes walk away.

We have seen motorhomes parked in the park and ride entering Norwich from the A140 on the website it does list the ones you can't park in, being multi storey. 😁

One of our daughters lives in Norwich so we park there, we can walk from hers in 10 minutes, you can see the green line that's the footpath / cycle route it starts at Sandy lane, so park on any of the estates on that route and walk in, most of it is the old railway track all tarmacked. 🙂 Bob.

You would be far better getting the train from Wroxham. 15 mins into Norwich and the trains run every hour. The bus journey is slow and goes via all the villages. You can also go the other way and get the train to Cromer and Sheringham. It’s a lovely train ride, well worth doing in its own right for the scenery.

Yes, it is! Used to be one of the lines I was responsible for, telecommunications-wise……funny how most of my site visits down there were in the summer…… ;)
