Norway toll and ferry tags

Hi Funsters,
We are beginning to plan a trip to Norway, anyone travelled there and can explain the ECG and Autopass toll tags and internal ferry discount booking systems please?
Finding it a bit confusing, grateful for any advice!

If you are over 3.5 t the electronic pass clocks you automaticity you through the tolls and any ferries within Norway. If you call them they are very helpful.

Even over 3.5t register as under 3.5t, you will then have the payment made through d.debit.
