Has anyone got routes...tips...campsites for N. France ....WW2 stuff etc.

Go straight to Pegasus bridge. You used to be able to overnight on the car park. Shop will have maps and also you can buy a discount card for all the other museums etc. Just follow your nose, that's how we did it. :D

We've visited all of the WW2 landing beaches. Stayed at the municipal site in Bayeux and spent a few days going to all of the landing beaches. Tapestry in Bayeux is also worth a visit, particularly the first few frames of the tapestry!:)

Have you spent all yours?

Is Pegasus bridge open? We tried to get across it last weekend and it was closed due to roadworks.

In no particular order, Arras, Pegasus bridge, Ypres and Bayeux are eye opening

St. Mere Eglise, Briquebec, through Carteret to the ferry. Park up and walk to the restaurants.
On the east coast Barfleur and Bird Island.

The real one is in the museum on the south side of the current Pegasus Bridge. You can walk about on it and get up close. We were there last year. Some moving individual stories inside the museum. Well worth the visit ...... oh and there’s a Horsa Glider too (y)

Standing stones at Carnac well worth a visit. With a free aire within walking distance and a nice little town with a Lidl and a street market.

We stayed at the municipal aire in Arromanches, excellent site and a superb base to explore lots of WW2 sites, enjoy your trip

If only we had known back then that all that was needed was a few signs and traffic cones. :D2

We’ve done both the beaches/Pegasus bridge etc AND Amiens and the surrounding areas, ie Lochnagar crater, Serre Rd, Vimy Ridge, Thiepval, Beaumont Hamel and much more I can’t remember, and out of the two the Amiens area has more to see although more spread out. Also there’s La Coupole near Helfaut where the V rockets were going to be launched from towards London, if it’s a red hot day like it was when we went there it’s lovely and cool in the big concrete dome. There’s also quite a few one man band type museums dotted around.

Arromanches Les Bains is definitely worth a visit. The aire is in the centre of town and a municipal campsite right behind it, both very good.
You can walk up to the mulberry harbours when the tide is out and there is a couple of very good museums.
