There's a britstop somewhere that way on that is a micro brewery....has good reviews but we've not had chance to try it

Edit: I blame Les.....think the pub is called The Haxey Gate Inn....on the River Idle & has a good vid apparently with a nice sounding menu.....32 oz rump steak.....

Pork pies and vanilla slices no probs if you can cope with taking orders -Bob informs me that both the chippy and Chinese take away deliver and he assures me they are very good -When he gets home he may well add to info about pub / site

They might deliver, do they do chicken and lamb too?

Manchester tarts never heard of them!!

The ones our butcher sells have a pastry base with a bit of jam, then some sort of vanilla-ry custardy yummy filling, topped off with cornflakes brushed with, I'm guessing an apricot glaze......dunno if that's similar to @Terry ........& I'm sure there are other types of tart available

& I'll keep an eye out for the list pp with black pudding I know will go down well with Les

@dabhand Simon it's early days yet mate, the nearest pub may be closer than the one at Misterton or after speaking to Graham or Mick I may get info on a barrel if not I am sure that old hymer of yours carries enough beer to sink a battleship
